Biography

Pete graduated from the University of Oxford in 2019 with an MEng in Engineering Science. His final year project, supervised by Professor Ross McAdam, focused on optimising offshore wind turbine foundations using the PISA foundation model developed in the department.
After graduating, Pete has been working for Ward & Burke Construction Ltd as a site and design engineer working on major infrastructure projects in the water/wastewater and energy industries including Blanchardstown Regional Drainage Scheme in North Dublin and PROTOS Energy Recovery Facility in Cheshire.
Pete returned to Oxford in October 2021 as a post-graduate research student, sponsored by Ward & Burke. Working with Dr Brian Sheil, his research will focus on investigating soil-structure interaction for earth retaining structures and deep excavations through intelligent field monitoring on Ward & Burke sites, numerical modelling, and laboratory testing.
