Biography
Bryn graduated from the Engineering Department of Oxford University in 2016 with a Master’s in Engineering Science. Since graduation Bryn has been working for Ward and Burke Construction Ltd as a site and design engineer. His work is focused on the construction of caisson shafts and pipe jacking. In 2018 he returned to the civil engineering research group at Oxford, sponsored by Ward and Burke.
He has a particular interest in geotechnical engineering and soil-structure interaction. His research will be focused around the instrumentation and analysis of pipe-jacked microtunnels during installation and in early life. His work will use fibre optic strain sensors to assess the performance of reinforced jacking pipes as well as more conventional means.
